A little about me…
Professionally, I have been a registered nurse for the past 30+ years. I have worked specifically with infants, birthing parents, and families. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through DONA International; I am also a Lactation Educator. I truly enjoy working alongside babies and families!
Personally, I am a mom to three adult children and a grandma! I have lived in San Luis Obispo County for 20+ years and spend many months of the year in the Bay Area with family. I enjoy walks with my dog, pottery, visiting local coffee shops, listening to audio books and traveling to warm beaches.
How Can I Support You?
The birth of a baby represents a profound and beautiful life change for a family. For parents, this change presents numerous challenges. As a doula, I am trained in postpartum adjustment, newborn care, helping families through the labor and delivery process, and the promotion of parent-infant bonding. I am experienced in supporting families through the many challenges that the birth and postpartum experience may bring.
I provide emotional, educational, and physical support for you and your growing family in the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum process. Some things I can support you in include:
Feeding options for your newborn, including breastfeeding support if you choose to breastfeed
Providing information and guidance on infant care
Discussing the challenges you are facing in pregnancy, labor and postpartum and finding manageable, helpful solutions
Guiding you through the birthing process and/or being there with you at your birth as a support person
Assisting with postpartum recovery
Helping with the adjustment to new family roles, including siblings and pets
Supporting with household organization postpartum
I am available on the Central Coast and work with families in SLO County. Please reach out on my contact form below if you would like to discuss working together!
